El presente blog es una actividad que el maestro de Inglés Juan Enrique Cabrales Sánchez nos sugirió realizar como parte de la formación para la mejora de nuestra escritura en el segundo idioma, ya que no soy un experto en la materia, pero con esta actividad he mejorado un poquito más y me ha interesado más expresarme en este idioma, y buscar maneras más propias y colegiales de comunicarse.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING SOON

CHRISTMAS is around the corner and I am looking forward for it, because in my family is a tradition to share love with others in a very particular way. This began four years ago when my dad had the great idea to set the christmas tree plus some of his Christmas toys like a Santa Claus who dances lively songs and uff a lot of his obsession about this season and when it is time I am going to come over you to join the beauty of this celebration where union is one of the important things that happens in this time.

I saw this little event grew up when I was about 7 and believe me I did not think we would become a little famous because of this. But of course, it is a lot of work to do during the year, though my house is small, my father sees the way to fit everything well in the living and dining room, he moved everything from them and he made a kind of circus. Yes that is how I call it "circus", because it looks like a shopping window, but without the famous window, because my father invites the curious people who stops in front of my house to see the outdoors Christmas decorations like an Illuminated Nativity scene, the lights and the 7 big blown figures that my father sets in the front yard and in the roof, I think it is amazing his creativity where he puts all his effort.Moreover, inside the house my dad sets the Santa Claus' train and the Christmas figures and I cannot forget the biggest one figure, it is a real size Santa Claus that dances and sings Christmas carols.

Every night of December, my family and I receive people from different parts of the city,of the country and the other country.Even people we do not know, people who come to town to visit their family relatives and they pass around my house, and my dad invites them to enter to my house and show them something that can be common in other countries like United States, but not too much in my country, because as Mexicans we set a Nativity scene, but to decorate it with Santa Clause stuff, that seems to be different.

Last year,one of these days of December my father, my girlfriend and I disguised for Christmas and many, many children were really happy to meet Santa there in my house with his elfs.That is right, it was my girlfriend and I the ones who help Mr.Claus to deliver the presents, but that night we were in charge of being part of this demonstration of Christmas love.

That is why I am waiting anxiously for Christmas time to celebrate along with people I know and people I do not have any idea where they come from. By the way, every year we keep a bookmark, so if you come, because you are already invited, do not forget to write down the Christmas greetings in our bookmark.

One Sunday morning, my parents heard me complaining about my life. I was uncomfortable. I was in the edge.I did not like the kind of life I was living.

But my parents immediately stopped me and told me things about life, that I had never heard before. They said:

You must accept life the way it is, no matter what happens. Your heart is more valuable. Sometimes you might feel you do not have anything and that you have a lot of problems and you cannot find a solution.

You are fed up of your daily life, so now we tell you, accept your life whatever it is,

God has given us a different kind of life,

accept it,

because everything has a reason in life,


but never walk easy way,


always walk the narrow way


in your path which was written by God.


You see, there are bad things, but also good things.


Life is a test of survival.


See, there are people living in worse conditions than you,


there are famine, poverty and diseases


which are great issues to solve in today's world.


Just thank God,


because you are living,


and if you are living a bad life,


just remember


your suffering will not have comparison


with Jesus Christ's suffering


who sacrified his life for all of us.


After this wise advice,


I just sat down on my bed and started to cry


for the hundreds of times


I have complained to God about my life.


Now, I thank God for


the good things and also


the bad things or for the lacking of something,


because all has a reason in this life


and it is the path that God has chosen for me.

Elmo and Tonkey

Two good brothers that like to have a lot of fun doing pranks, but anyway they are cute.

These two boys, my girlfriend gave them to me, now they are part of my family, lol.

Just because Mister Cabrales asked us to publish this in our blogs, I do it!

This is a story about a confusion, well now by reading it you will know about it, from page 61 of my English book.

One day I was taking a walk on the beach and stopped to look at the waves. Suddenly, I thought I saw something struggling in the water. It looked like a man who was having a trouble swimming. Just then I reached for my glasses, and then remembered I'd left them at home.Suddenly, a big wave came, and the man was gone. At that moment,I ran as fast as I could to get the lifeguard.

After that, we arrived back at the spot where I had seen the man. When the lifeguard looked through his binoculars, he said he didn't see a thing and I was pretty embarrassed.

The next day, I bought a newspaper. There was an article about dolphins swimming near the shore.As soon as I read the article. I realized that I had seen a dolphin in the water-not a man!

I have been in this quest for you

since a long time ago,

pretty eyes,

pretty smile,

pretty girl,

now that I have found you

I cannot believe

this truth

and I see

IN MY COUNTRY MEXICO

If young couples in my country want to get married, they usually first get the permission of their parents, even though they are really sure of what they want, it is a custom to tell them.

The way this permission is asked is by making a reunion with the girlfriend's and boyfriend's families where they meet each other, then the future lucky one, "the boyfriend" asks permission for getting married to the girlfriend's parents, at the moment his petition is well received, he gives to his girlfriend an engagement ring as a showing of love and compromise.

After that, they have a dinner where the families start to socialize and plan the coming wedding.

Nowadays, it is usual that the bride and groom pay the reception, but then the honeymoon is a wedding gift from the broom or sometimes someone gives it as a present.

Finally, after the couple celebrated the wedding, they have to begin the kind of life style as a married couple, the husband offers to his wife a place to live and build up their marriage with full of hopes.

There was a man

who loved a girl

I'm sitting on the deck of a boat

gazing around my loneliness,

An old tree branch is floating near the non-fancy boat

and a black duck is loitering around it,

without yout it is not the same,

LEON

A great exciting city to visit that offers many things in order not to get bored easily.

Leon is located in the state of Guanajuato which is in the West part of this country Mexico. And this region is well known as "El Bajio".

The weather in this city is nice, in the spring is a little bit hot. In the summer there are rains frequently in the afternoons. Meanwhile, autumn is nice with some rainy days and in winter there are beats of cool air until February and March. So, always is a good time to visit here, it just depends on the weather you feel more comfortable.

Zoo, museums, parks, nightclubs, historical places are just a little part you can find here, plus lots of places to go shopping and guess what, Leon is best known for producing the best shoes in the country, so do not forget to bring some cash to spend, because as you get here you would like to spend it all in the city. And do not worry about transportation, because there are many ways to get somewhere.

Plus, the city gives you the opportunity to enjoy for free its great balance of nature and architecture in every corner, you can expect really nice people to meet.In downtown in the streets you can see plays, musicians, odd people doing weird things like a kind of performance that there is no way to get bored.

Leon is waiting for you, so get up of your bed,come here and live your own adventure!

A daughter asked to her mother "Mother, how will I be when I grow up? will I be pretty? will I be rich? what will I be? what is the future expecting for me?" and her mom replied "It does not matter how pretty you will be or if you will be rich, but what really cares is what you want for your life and make a kind of plan to get your dreams, because being pretty does not long forever and money is not everything, perhaps you can get what you want by this, but you will realize you feel an emptiness that could be fulfilled by other better things than money". Thus, the little girl do not say any word of this to her mother until she got married and thanked her for this advice.

The daughter said after the wedding "Thank you, mother, for the advice you gave me when I was four, it has helped me in some way to feel confident in who I am", the mother did not have any idea of what she was talking about, but then her daughter gave her a hint of this " I recall when I asked you what would I be when I grew up " then the mother put her arms around her daughter crying and saying "Look at you, now you are married, time has passed so fast for me, but I have been having a good time raising you, you have been a good girl who I am very proud of. The only thing I ask you it is that you keep this learning forever and spread it to your kids by showing a good behaving in life"

"THE EDGE OF CRAZYNESS" COMING SOON

Just a tale

Tom is a college guy who rented an apartment close to his University, but this place looked quiet, that is why he decided to live there while he was studying, his parents supported him, they were wealthy, so he did not have to worry about sharing the apartment with a stranger.

After the first long school day, Tom was so tired that he did not have the chance to spend too much time in his apartment,thus he hit the sacks so early.

In the very midnight a loudy slam of a door woke him up, Tom was so sure that he had left all the windows shut, so then he stood up and checked what was going on, but he did not find anything, so he thought that it was nothing to care about.

He continued sleeping for a while when he felt a chill that woke him up again immediatly. He opened his eyes and looked around his room, but he did not see anything, suddenly he saw that shadows were creeping into his bed, he was shivering too much, the shadows were getting closer and closer, so in a quick reaction he stood up and ran for his life in underpants.

This was the only and last night Tom stayed in that apartment and he decided to sleep in the college dorms with some strangers well known as roomies.

Weeks later, he told his roomies the experience he had in that apartment and one of them told him that he was also in that place before and that it happened the same, but then he researched about the apartment and he realized a woman with his lover were found there dead.

The flowers in the garden are so beautiful with mixed colors. There is a great population of bugs going on differents roads, suddenly, you notice you are among them and that you are the smallest one, but something excites you to be bigger than the bigger ones, be happier than the others.

Sometimes, the days turn gray and little black, then rain falls down, but you never give up.

You have got the guts to achieve the no-written sheet of paper, you think there will not be tomorrow and you got to do it right now, because you are what you want, what you try, what you have done.

Fun at the lagoon

Hello folks! now I show you what we did, our friends and my girlfriend in a cloudy beautiful Sunday, when the sky announced that it was about to rain, but hopefully it did not.

This last Sunday we had some much fun at the Laguna del Carpintero where the alligator "Juancho" threatened us by the lagoon's borders, but we were so smart and we did not get closer to this little fella.

You must be wondering what we were doing that afternoon.

Well, on Friday we decided to do something different in our weekend by doing this meeting, so we organized to see us at the Unidad Deportiva, but only Kesia, my girlfriend Carmen and I were there on time, and then few minutes later Juan José arrived to the encounter.

We were so excited for this meeting, we had some ideas of what we would do that afternoon, the main activity was taking creative pictures and everyone brought a camera, so we started the photograph party.

But before doing that, we called Paola, because she had not arrived yet, she answered her cellphone and she told Carmen that she was going to be late, so she said that we should wait for her in the lagoon, but in what part of the whole lagoon? we wondered and even Carmen asked her, but she only said "We see you at the lagoon". Therefore, we started to walk ahead the lagoon, meanwhile, Paola was about to take the bus to meet us.

Pictures and pictures, we took pictures, much of them were so funny, I know we are not professionals, but that we did not care, we were just having fun and in the middle of our way to the heart's lagoon, I mean, the park where all the families got together to have a peaceful picnic, we saw Paola coming to us with her arms extended hoping to give a big hug, and she did, she gave to all of us a big friendly hug. Then, we continued our activity of taking creative and nonsense pictures.

Finally, after a happy afternoon, we had to said goodbye, but the remembrance remained in our hearts and in some pictures.

"LOLITA" A STANLEY KUBRICK'S MOVIE

"Lolita" is one of my favorite movies, I do not have a range of that, but yes I do have my favorite ones and this is one. You must be thinking why in the world I like this film. Well, it is because the plot is so good, plus it was well directed by the cinematographer Stanley Kubrick who had a good vision in every story he had told by the sequence of images.

Maybe you have not precisely heard about him, but if I tell you "the shinning" "eyes wide shut" "Spartacus" or the most famous "a clockwork orange", perhaps you would have seen these movies that have made a great evolution in cinema, although he seems to present independent movies, those that are not easily understood by all the people, because his movies were made to make us think a little more.

A brief summary of the movie "Lolita" (1962) is that is about a European writer, Humbert Humbert who recently arrived to America planning to stay there for a long time.

By looking for a place to live, he met Charlotte Haze who invited him to stay at her house, but he was not so convinced until he saw her beautiful teenager daughter called Lolita, so he accepted immediatly having some plans with her. And the rest of the story I will not tell you, because I recommend you to see this movie and enjoy it.

CINEMA

Hello folks! I'm here just loitering around my blog and I want you to know that I finally saw the movie "Batman: the dark knight" , although it is been a lot of time in the movie theather and almost it is time they do not show this film on the big screen, if you still have the chance to see it, well I totally recomend it! If not, you have wait until DVD release. Because this movie captures you since the first scene with great characterizations such as Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent) and Heath Ledger (Joker) who has his best acting in this footage, that is my opinion, it is a shame he is past away. I hope he rests in peace, I have seen him in different roles, but this one seems to be really special.

This kind of situation of death leaves me with one little thought "life is short", no one knows when end comes, no one, just God. So, it is a good idea to live the life as great as it can be, to put a smile on our faces, trying to be positive and having the guts to achieve our dreams, because we can, just we have to dare to dream and start doing something for it.
